Packlyn Design Software

Subscription and Billing Terms

Effective date: November 3, 2026. Version 1.

Effective date: November 3, 2026

Version 2.1

1. About these terms

These Subscription and Billing Terms explain how the paid plan for Packlyn Design Software works: what it includes, how you pay, and how renewals, failed payments, cancellations and refunds work. In these terms, "Packlyn", "we", "us" and "our" mean Packlyn Canada, a print business in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. "You" means the person who holds the Packlyn account.

These terms form part of the Packlyn Design Software Terms of Service and should be read together with it. The Refund Policy, the AI Features Terms and the AI Usage Policy also apply to the matters they cover. The website packlyn.ca and its Plyn chat have their own policies, including the Privacy & Cookie Policy (https://packlyn.ca/privacy/) and the Plyn AI Assistant Terms & Conditions (https://packlyn.ca/plyn-terms/).

Printing is not part of a subscription. Packlyn replies to a "Print With Packlyn" quote request with a quotation, and nothing is charged in the app for printing. Printing orders are separate agreements with Packlyn Canada, governed by Packlyn's quotation and order terms.

Packlyn Design Software comes in two versions that share one account: the Windows desktop app and the online version that runs in a web browser. A subscription covers both.

2. Who can buy Pro

You need a Packlyn account to buy Pro. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to buy a subscription. Younger people may use the app only with a parent or guardian's permission, and may not buy anything.

3. Plans and prices

There are two plans: Free and Pro. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CA$). Applicable sales taxes are added on top of the price (see section 9).

Free

The Free plan costs CA$0 and has no time limit. It includes:

Free Plan: Designs can only be saved to your device. Cloud storage is exclusively available with the Pro Plan: save up to 50 designs online and access them from anywhere. The Free plan does not include cloud storage, the AI tools (including what Plyn AI creates: designs, writing, colour palettes, vector art and pictures), Image Upscaling or print-ready PDF downloads. Free artwork may not meet professional print resolution, and the app says so before a Free user sends a quote request.

Pro

Pro costs:

plus applicable taxes. Pro includes:

AI features and fair use

Plyn AI and Image Upscaling are included with Pro. There are no AI credits, no monthly allowance and no credit packages to buy, and nothing is ever charged to you for AI use. Plyn AI has fixed daily amounts of pictures, designs, writing, colour palettes and vector art, shown in Plyn AI and in My Account › My Subscription. Fair use applies: a short per-minute limit stops bursts of requests and automated abuse, and Packlyn has an overall monthly spending limit for its AI providers. If that limit is reached, the AI features pause until it resets. The Free plan does not include the AI tools or what Plyn AI creates; Plyn's chat answers are open to everyone, on every plan and without an account. The AI Features Terms explain this in full.

Earlier plans

Business and Enterprise plans are no longer offered. Accounts that had them were moved to Pro on the same billing period, with nothing extra charged.

4. When Pro starts and how long each period lasts

Pro starts the moment your payment is completed. You don't wait for a billing date.

The end of your current period ("paid until") and your next charge date are shown in My Account › My Subscription. Each renewal starts where the previous period ended, so you never lose or gain days.

On the Free plan, the monthly download count runs from the date you signed up.

5. How you pay

Card payments are processed by Square (Block, Inc. and its Canadian affiliate), a payment processor. Packlyn accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB and UnionPay cards, including Visa Debit and Debit Mastercard. Interac e-Transfer is accepted by Packlyn directly (not through Square), for printing orders or when Packlyn adds Pro to an account.

You enter your card on Packlyn's payment page in a secure card form provided by Square. The card number goes straight to Square; Packlyn's servers never receive or store your full card number or security code. Square keeps the card on file for your Packlyn account, and Packlyn keeps only a reference to it, the card brand and the last four digits so we can show you which card is used.

Payments can also be arranged directly with Packlyn, for example in the shop or by Interac e-Transfer to packlyncanada@gmail.com. Packlyn then records the payment on your account and gives you a receipt.

6. What you agree to on the payment page

Before you pay, the payment page shows the price, the tax, the total and the length of the period, and asks you to tick:

Nothing is charged until the required boxes are ticked. Packlyn keeps a record of when you ticked them and which versions of the documents were in force.

7. Auto-Pay (automatic renewal) and your authorization

With Auto-Pay on, Pro renews automatically at the end of each period, every 30 days for monthly or every 365 days for annual, until you turn Auto-Pay off or cancel. Each renewal is charged to the card on file through Square, at the price that applies to your subscription at that time, plus applicable taxes. By leaving Auto-Pay ticked on the payment page, or by turning it on later, you authorize Packlyn Canada to make these charges.

You can turn Auto-Pay off or on at any time with the Auto-Pay switch in My Account › My Subscription. We email you each time it changes.

Turning Auto-Pay off is not a refund request; see section 16.

8. Receipts and payment history

We email you when Pro starts and after each renewal. Every payment, including refunds and failed charges, is listed in My Account › Billing, where you can open and print a receipt. Square may also send its own receipt.

9. Taxes

Prices are shown before tax. Tax is added on top and is shown before you pay:

You set your billing province in My Account. The tax charged appears on your receipt.

10. Promo codes

Packlyn may offer promo codes. A code may give:

These rules apply:

When Pro access from a promo code ends, you see the message "Your Promotional Access Has Ended" once, your account returns to the Free plan, and your designs are kept.

11. Price changes

Packlyn may change the price of Pro. Before a new price applies to an existing subscription, Packlyn will give you at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your first renewal after the notice period ends. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before that renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.

A price change never affects a period you have already paid for. For new subscriptions, the price shown before you pay is the price you pay.

12. Failed payments

If a renewal payment can't be collected, your subscription shows "Payment Failed" in My Account and we email you. You keep Pro during a grace period, normally 7 days from the end of your paid period. During the grace period:

If the payment still can't be collected when the grace period ends, Pro ends and the account moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted because a payment failed, and you can subscribe again at any time.

13. Switching between monthly and annual

You can switch between monthly (30 days) and annual (365 days) in My Account. The switch takes effect at your next renewal, and the new period's price is charged then. Nothing is prorated and nothing is charged at the moment you switch.

14. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from My Account › My Subscription. When you cancel:

You can undo a cancellation from My Account before the paid period ends (Keep Pro); the subscription then continues as before, renewing if Auto-Pay is on. If you only want to stop automatic payments but keep the subscription, turn Auto-Pay off instead (section 7). Cancelling does not by itself give a refund for the rest of the current period; see section 16 and the Refund Policy.

15. Deleting your account while you have Pro

If you ask to delete your account while Pro is active, the app asks you to choose:

Payments already made are not refunded automatically when an account is deleted. You can ask for a refund as described in the Refund Policy, preferably before you delete the account.

16. Refunds

Refunds are never made automatically by the app or the website. If you would like a refund, use "Request a refund" in My Account › My Subscription (shown once you have paid for Pro), or email packlyncanada@gmail.com, with the reason and details. A person at Packlyn reviews every request and decides whether to give a full refund, a partial refund or no refund, and emails you the decision. Duplicate or mistaken charges are always corrected. The Refund Policy explains this in full.

17. What happens when Pro ends

When Pro ends, for any reason, the account moves to the Free plan:

18. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first; duplicate or mistaken charges are always corrected.

If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer (a chargeback), Packlyn may respond to the dispute through Square using the records of the charge and your account. While a dispute is open, automatic renewals for that subscription are stopped. If a disputed payment is reversed, the Pro access it paid for may end. Disputing a charge does not affect any rights you have under consumer protection law.

19. Testing and the sandbox

Before real payments were switched on, Packlyn tested payments with Square's sandbox, where nothing is charged. Payment pages and receipts made in the sandbox are clearly marked "Sandbox" or "Test". No real card is charged in the sandbox.

20. Governing law and your rights

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away any rights that the consumer protection law of your own province or territory, including Quebec, gives you.

21. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Each version shows a version number and an effective date at the top, and your account records which version of each document you accepted and when. If a change significantly affects your subscription, we will let you know by email or in the app before it applies. Price changes always follow the 30-day notice in section 11.
